Not a great episode by any means. A bit corny, a bit forced, and a bit awkward. As with most copies circulating of this 1949 series, the episode appears incomplete, that, or it had more advertising than most other series of the period (trust me, I've seen enough TV from this period to know that most early TV shows had less advertising than most current US Network TV programs).
Even considering the weak script, Jackie Gleason is, as usual fun to watch (he was often better than the material given to him during his early years on TV). Still, this does not compare well with series made not long after. Yet, if nothing else, it is amazingly, unbelievably better than "High School Reunion". Then again, what isn't?
